The education secretary writes: “In spite, and perhaps because of the austere times, the celebration should go beyond those of previous jubilees and mark the greater achievement that the diamond anniversary represents.”
I know, I know! How about we give the Queen a half decent Education Secretary for her diamond jubilee. In fact, if this should go ‘beyond… previous jubilees,’ why don’t we give her a whole new government that isn’t completely detached from reality and who treat anyone with a less-than-triple-figure-paycheque as a punchline to their sick joke.
