I’m speechless.
Ben Brown’s technique of ‘interviewing’ here is disgusting. It just goes to show where the loyalties of pretty much all the major media and news outlets lie now. For starters, can Ben Brown really expect anyone to take him seriously? Anyone with a shred of common sense can see that this is a man in a wheelchair at a protest. He claim to be as able as others in the protest, however, when there’s a baton charge, there are certain limitations to being in a wheelchair which anyone can see. And to suggest it was his own fault for being assaulted because he was “rolling towards the police” is just… really? This is meant to be the BBC, not Fox News.
On the other hand, Jody McIntyre said all the right things. He remained confident and determined to say his piece without getting suckered into defending himself from such ridiculous accusations. And this is perfect:
Brown: “But you say you’re a revolutionary?”
McIntyre: “Revolutionary is a word on a website, not a physical act of violence.”
